God chooses us!
I decided to start a blog! Many people have reached out to me over the past couple of months and recommended I start blogging on some of my thoughts. Most of what I plan on writing about currently will be Biblical thoughts that come into my head at random times or from lack of sleep because I had too much greasy food. For my first blog, I have decided to replicate a Facebook post I made a while back. In this post, I will try to explain some of God’s heart in how he chooses each of us on a daily basis. I also chose this as my starting point because February is known as the love month and what better way to celebrate than to show God’s, unconditional love.
When God created mankind He already knew that mankind would fail Him. He already knew that mankind would reject Him. Even knowing that He still created the pathway for mankind to come back (John 3:16). The reason He has chosen and keeps choosing us is because of love. Every person is given a choice as well, what to do with God’s choice.
1. Choose God.
2. Reject God.
Thinking about this unconditional love is a very tough item to address. Many people choose love, but only if certain conditions are met. The true test of love is loving in the face of rejection. It is choosing to love when there is no guarantee that this love will be returned. In all honesty, there is no way for any of us to return the exact love that has been given to us by God. I can however give Him my best.
The truth is God does everything that He can to try to win over someone to choose Him, however many times people still reject Him. God does not give up on us, he does however allow us to make our own choice.
Lesson to learn from this.
1. Choose God.
Choosing God begins when we choose Him as our Savior. We make a choice to accept God’s free gift of salvation. The next step in choosing God is choosing Him as our spiritual leader. This happens by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us while establishing a personal relationship with God.
2. Learn to love as God loves.
John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God’s love for us is so great that He created an actionable plan thru mercy and grace to allow us the freedom to choose Him. Let us learn to love others so much that we give of ourselves showing mercy and grace to all who cross our path.
3. Don’t give up on people
2 Peter 3:9 states: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” God is longsuffering and does not give up on me! God’s desire is for us to show that same tenacity for other people by continuously and consistently showing God’s love to others.
There is a lot more I want to say on this topic but have decided for my first post to try to keep it somewhat simplistic and short. Please feel free to give constructive criticism if the urge arises!
To the person that may be reading this that is struggling. Please know that God loves you. Also please reach out I would love to talk to you and help in any way that I can.
